Asian 2813 Date Automatic Mechanical Clone Watch Movement

The Asian 2813 is one of the cheapest and most common movements found in a range of watches listed on Aliexpress, DHGate or similar. Many replica watches or budget watces have a 2813 as its such a great budget watch. It has sweep second and date feature. These are made in China and are compatible Miyota 8215 having same stem position and dial feet.

Being a cost effective automatic watch movement you can purchase these from around $10 - $25 USD. Making it a great movement to start experimenting on. This movement is 21,600 bph (6 bps) so is not as smooth as most 8 bps watches movements used in the likes of Rolex, Omega, etc.

2813 Technical Specification

Im going to give you the standard specification for the 2813 movement however it best to check the specification when purchasing to ensure they are as good. Some 2813 come with "high beat" - a sort of mod making it tick at 8 bps but these are less common

Back and 2813 Stem Removal

Showing the back of the 2813 you can see the rotors, its quite noise on this movement in this case being the price point and will be mass made its not taken care of when being made - its still good for the price. Removing the stem on the 2813 movement is simple. Make sure it is in the winding position then and press the little hole (with yellow arrow) with tweezer just a just pull the stem out.

Close Up and Date Wheel

I have taken a close up to show off the date wheel and where the hands will be placed onto the movement. This 2813 movement i purchased a date wheel which is attached to the center a lot have the dial just attached to the side. Out of all the 2813 movements i have purchased the date wheel seems to have Rolex date font between 1 and 19, from here it seems to drop to San Serif font making it a bit strange.

One benefit of the 2813 movement is it is similar height to the 2836 movement with the date wheel above the movement making it easier to apply a date wheel overlay.

Dial Hands

When doing my own reach i did not find much about fitting hands on the 2813 movement and i also did not see any close up photos here why i tried to make this as rich and clear. The hour hand is a 1.52 mm size (a size 1.50 mm fits) and is easy to apply with hand presser tools (see my tools), same for the minute hand with a size of 1.00 mm you can fit with hand presser.

The second hand on the 2813 is very slim at only 0.17 mm, when apply you need to go super careful when experimenting i broke the second pin a couple of times. Easy way to apply is wear magnifying glasses just touch the second hand on to the movement for it start moving - once its secure gently press the hand down with a hand press. Steady wins here! I would always purchase the right size hands for your movement - I learnt the hard way purchasing way too many hands.
